SafeBoot has been corrupted (Error 92h)

The hard drive will not be accessible. SCOPE The specific notebook PCs affected by this issue are listed in the Hardware Platforms Affected section at the bottom of this advisory. RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, perform one of the following: Reformat hard drive This process will remove the SafeBoot MBR (Master Boot Record) and then re-image the hard drive. NOTE: Data will not be lost. 1. Insert the OSDVD (Disc shipped with the notebook PC) into the notebook PC optical disc drive. 2. Restart the notebook PC to boot to the OSDVD. 3. Click Next and then select Yes to reset the system to factory settings. Click Next . 4. The Recovery process will proceed. Follow the on screen instructions. Repair my computer This process repair the MBR (Master Boot Record) NOTE: Data will not be lost. 1. Insert the OSDVD (Disc shipped with the notebook PC) into the notebook PC optical disc drive. 2. Restart the notebook PC to boot to the OSDVD. 3. Click Next and then select Repair My Computer . 4. Follow the on screen instructions. 5. At the Recovery Options main menu, select Command Box . 6. Run BOOTREC /FIXMBR. 7. Reboot the notebook PC. | |
